Starting in March 2024, we will do further research to better understand what life is like for families with a lone (or twinless) twin during the childhood period. This includes things such as how the parents and children think about and make memories of their twin, what activities families may do in memory of the twin or what they do on birthdays, and what children say to teachers (or anyone!) about whether they have brothers and sisters.
Our research will use questionnaires and interviews, and we are delighted to be working in partnership with several advocacy groups and support organisations as well as parents and children themselves. A link to take part in our new research will be available here in a few weeks’ time. In the meantime, if you want to learn more you can use the contact page or email me nicholas.embleton@ncl.ac.uk. Thank you!
